Risk Assessment

Competency of technical crew - The crew was aware of the hazards while filming and has used the equipment before. They were capable of preforming the task required and knowing how to do it safely.

Temporary Structures, scaffolding, scenery etc - Around the set there are some ladders and wood left from re-decorating. We will have to work around them, so the group know what to be aware of. it has been moved slightly out of our way so it shouldn't be too dangerous.

Tripping Hazards - We will not be using anything electrically in the footage but will be needing to charge the camera at times. The plugs are well checked over and safe to use. Props are all set up in the right place and safe there.

Children On Site - there may be Emily's brother on site who is a child, but he will not be in the same room as filming so shouldn't be any danger to him. before filming, we will warn him what is happening.

Practical fires/cookers - There are cookers on site but will not be on when filming. Emily's mum will be in charge of the cooker, as it will be at Emily's house. We will not include the cooker for anything in our footage.

Breakables - we will be using a glass vase which we will have to be very careful with. This will be moved around the room continuously.

Water - there will be water in the vase but will not be near any electric. Just on the table.

Fire/Smoke alarms - Smoke alarms are fitted in the house and fire extinguishers will be placed around the house.

Animals on set - we were aware of the cat around the house which might come into the set.

Health Conditions - both the members of crew have asthma but will both have inhalers and medication on them. Also, older adults such as Emily's mum will be around if there is any danger.

Treatment for Music video

Artist; Ashlee Simpson
Song title; Outta my head
Production company; Universal Music group

Overview;
The reason behind the direction of the video has taken is a serious style which is shown by using black and white, this is because the lyrics suggest someone is trying to escape from someone or something and in the proposed video there is someone trying to get away from someone who she believes is following her as a stalker, but actually finds out that she wasn't being stalked.

Style;
The characters in the video are going to be wearing dark clothes and there'll be a use of a dull colour palette, quite monochrome make-up will be used. The use of black and white will be used to show that there are memories, and will be black and white showing memories. Other times the footage will be in normal colours.

Concept;
The idea of the music video is to reflect the lyrics of the song, which is about getting someone out of their head because they're annoying her. In the video there will be someone following the main character and the main character thinks that she is being stalked. But eventually the main character finds out that she wasn't actually being stalked. There will be flashbacks of memories from the main character linking to the person who was following the main character.

Filming Process

When filming we found that we deviated from the storyboard, as when filming we saw opportunities for shots that we thought were better than those we planned in the storyboard. Most of our filming was within a closed environment as we used one of our houses, this was useful for us as the majority of our filming was under one roof. Also when filming we had to think about the lighting outside of the house and if would fit with previous footage and not have to edit footage with daylight outside and some footage with it being night time outside. The first bit of footage we filmed we found was too dark so we re-filmed it, and found that it looked a lot better.

Animatics

This is the animatic we created from our storyboard, we decided to do this so we could tell if there would have to be any changes made to our storyboard.

Music Video research

These are the videos we chose, as they are from the same record company, and are of a similar genre. Also they are music videos we personally think are good music videos and not only like the music but like the video to go with it.

Music Videos analysed;
Ne-yo - Miss Independent
Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up
Rihanna - Disturbia

Ne-yo - Miss Independent

- colour palette is dull and monochrome apart from keri hilson's top which is fuschia pink which could signify that she is of importance in the video
- the black and white of suits could show that the work is of importance and sophistication

Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up

- stuck in traffic in their car, and probably bored and thinking how they use to think about growing up, like it says in the lyrics
- costumes are very colourful, could be signified as being fun and happy, which could show how they use to be when they were younger
- the environment in which they're in is glamourous

Rihanna - Disturbia

- fast cut rate
- black/dark colour palette
- fire; danger (dark side of her)
- costume is burlesque and also some red is used such as her lipstick
- chains; could also signify that she is trapped which could be mentally or physically
